El Paso-The UTEP volleyball team falls to the UTSA Roadrunners, 3-0 (20-25, 22-25, 25-27) on Sunday at Memorial Gym.

UTEP is now 12-9 overall, and 5-4 in C-USA as UTSA moves to 16-7 and 8-1 in league play.

Xitlali Herrera led the Miners with 13 kills and only four errors. The senior also posted eight digs and a service ace. Lindsey Larson followed with eight kills as Malia Patterson aided the Miner offense with 29 assists.

The competition started off strong as both squads went point for point tying the score 15 times in the first set.  With the score tied at 20, a kill by McKenzie Adams sparked a 4-0 run for the Roadrunners forcing the Miners to a time out.

Coming off of the time out a kill from Adams captured the set for UTSA.

The close competition carried over into the second set as the scored tied 12 more times, but at 3-0 run would give the second set to the Roadrunners.

In the third set the teams continued to fight for points as they tied the score 15 times. With the score tied at 25, two consecutive UTEP errors gave the match to UTSA.

The Miners will look to redeem themselves as take on Marshall, Friday Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. (MT) in Huntington, W Va.
