2011 (JUNIOR): Played in 17 matches for the Miners ... registered 42 kills and averaged a .215 hitting efficiency ... posted 24 total blocks (1s/23a) ... hammered a season-best nine kills against Delaware State and recorded a .500 hitting efficiency (Sept. 3) ... also chipped in six digs and one assist for UTEP ... named to the 2011 C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2010 (SOPHOMORE):Saw action in 27 of 33 contests, making 21 starts ... recorded 136 kills (1.70 per set) and registered a .247 hitting efficiency (136-57-320) ... second on the team in blocks, averaging 0.99 per set ... collected 79 total net stops (6s/73a) ... hammered a career-best 13 kills against UT Pan American (9/11) ... recorded five or more blocks on six occasions including a career-best 10 against Marshall (10/9) to etch her name in school annals ... hit .259 (101-38-243) in league-only contests to rank first on the squad and 18thin the league ... averaged 1.77 kills per set ... first on the team in blocks per set, averaging 1.12 in conference matches to rank fifth in the league ... registered 64 blocks in C-USA tilts, including a team-high six solo blocks in C-USA play.

2009 (FRESHMAN): Started in 25 of 27 matches played ... averaged a team leading 1.2 blocks per set ... second on the team in total blocks with 100 to rank fourth amongst conference players ... fourth in the league with an average of 1.35 blocks per set in conference-only matches ... rated sixth in the conference in hitting percentage (.312) in league play ... was fifth on the team with 117 kills for the season ... registered a career high 12 blocks against Marshall (Oct. 18) ... posted a career high eight kills four times during the season against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Houston, Southern Miss and East Carolina ... named to the Conference USA Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: Led Sunnyslope High School to three consecutive state appearances ... helped the Vikings nab the state crown in 2006 with a 41-0 record ... named first team All-Region in 2006 and 2007 ... led the Western Sky League in total blocks, finished fourth in kills and fifth in aces in 2007 ... earned second team All-State recognition as a result ... garnered all-region honorable mention as a freshman ... a four-time league scholar athlete and NHS member was a 2007 Academic Athlete All-Region honoree ... played club with the Arizona Juniors leading them to three division state championships and a top five finish at nationals in 2005 and 2007.

PERSONAL:Cassandra Lauren Burruel is the daughter of Eddie and Cheryl Burruel ... she has one brother (Nick) and one sister (Alaina) ... born in Phoenix, Ariz., on September 21, 1989 ... brother played football at the University of Redlands.
