EL PASO, Texas - Two UTEP tennis players will compete at the 2013 ITA Regional tournament at TCU starting Thursday, Oct. 17 through Oct. 21. Head coach Mark Roberts will travel with senior Rebeca Calvillo and junior Davina Meza to Fort Worth for the four-day event.

"I am really looking forward to seeing Rebeca and Davina compete this weekend," Roberts said. "It will be a great opportunity for both of them to represent UTEP and compete against all the best players in the Texas region. They have both had a great fall season so far and this weekend will be another opportunity to grow and develop their games."

Calvillo and Meza fared well in doubles as the duo advanced to the Wildcat Flight finals at the Wildcat Invitational before falling, 9-7, to Arizona's Laura Oldham and Susan McRann. On the singles side, Calvillo won three matches in the Wildcat Flight. Meza also notched three victories, including defeating Iowa State's Meghan Cassens, 6-1, 6-3, in the consolation finals of the Wildcat Flight.

At the 2013 Aggie Invitational in September, Meza won the Acoma Flight Championship when she outmatched New Mexico's Meredith Hopson, 6-4, 3-6, 6-0. Calvillo advanced to the Isleta Flight Championship, but fell to NM State's Brittany Collens, 6-3, 6-3.
