El Paso - After nearly a month away from competitive play, the UTEP tennis team makes its way to Waco, Texas for the ITA Texas Regional tournament Oct. 19-23.

UTEP last saw competitive action at the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M. in mid September. During the three-day tournament, junior Rebeca Calvillo and senior Martina Trierweiler each won their respective flight.

Calvillo teamed up with Gabi Vazquez in the doubles bracket finals for an 8-4 loss to the duo from Tarleton State. The pair of Miners fought through three matches during the course of the weekend before being defeated.

UTEP begins play on Friday, Oct. 19, and the tournament concludes on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
