UTEP Travels To Colorado Springs For AFA Invite




After a week off following a strong showing at the Wyoming Fall Invite, the UTEP women’s tennis team will travel to Colorado Springs to participate in the Air Force Fall Invitational this weekend.

The two-day event features eight singles flights and four doubles flights. The eight-team field also includes Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Georgia Southern, New Mexico and Wyoming.

Head Coach Jamie Campbell's squad will consist of five singles players and two doubles teams.

UTEP's entrants into the singles draws include: Tea Spirta (Flight 1), Kendall Exelby (Flight 2), Katherine Palider (Flight 3), Joanna Furdyna (Flight 4) and Teri Wilkerson (Flight 6).

On the doubles side, Exelby and Furdyna will team together and play in Flight 1, with Palider and Wilkerson representing UTEP in Flight 3.

UTEP will play two doubles and one singles match on Friday, and one doubles and two singles matches on Saturday. Play will begin at 9 a.m. both days.
