Samantha Attard Signs with UTEP Tennis Program

UTEP women's tennis coach Jamie Campbell announced that Samantha Attard, of Tennyson, New South Wales, Australia, has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Miners.

Attard has been ranked in the top 20 in Australia throughout her junior career and has climbed as high as third nationally.

"Samantha has a powerful forehand and one-handed backhand," Campbell said. "She has the tools to be an impact player with our program and a great Division I player. We are very excited to have her at UTEP."

Attard recently received the NSW State Blues Award, which is the highest state school award bestowed upon prep athletes. The award recognizes the tennis player for outstanding play outside the high school and commitment to the sport.

Attard enrolled at UTEP last week as a freshman.
