The UTEP tennis team reverted to its winning ways by knocking off Drake, 4-3, on Friday. The Miners move to 8-7 on the season while the Bulldogs fall to 6-9.

Making the effort even more impressive is the fact that UTEP was without its top player, Weronika Bloczynska, who has been sidelined due to a knee injury.

UTEP received singles victories from Vicky Michaud, Amber Brightly and Harmonie Chatagner. The effort was just enough as the Orange and Blue had earned the early advantage thanks to taking the double point.

Michaud drilled Drake's Sarah Plowman, 7-6 (7-5), 6-0, in a convincing straight-set triumph at No. 4 singles. Brightly also a victory of that nature, waxing Daria Zawislak, 7-5, 6-3.

UTEP will look to pick up its second triumph in as many days when it challenges Conference USA foe UCF.
