Audas Stifles Miner Bats as UCF Wins 9-0 in Finale

El Paso, Texas- The Miners struggles continued on Saturday as their losing skid extended to 13 games after they lost a 9-0 six-inning affair to UCF.

A leadoff home run off the bat of Natalie Land put UCF up 1-0 against Colleen Hohman and the Miners.

The Knights added another pair of runs in the second inning and loaded the bases but a groundout to third ended the inning.

Mackenzie Audas took a no-hitter into the fifth inning. With two outs she walked Courtney Ware and Kayla Oranger followed that with a double to left field to break the no hit bid. Kayleigh Walts struck out with runners in scoring position to end the inning.

Audas walked four Miners and surrendered just three hits in the six inning game. Oranger, Camilla Carrera, and Charissa Ballesteros each had a hit for the Miners.  

The Miners will complete their eight-game home stand with a double header against Nevada. TheMiners and Wolfpack will face off on Thursday, April 12 at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex
