2008 (SENIOR): One of just two players to have started in all of the Miners' 54 games ... batted .301, the fourth best on the team ... recorded 34 runs on 49 hits with 11 doubles and seven home runs ...tallied 32 RBI ... the only Miner to connect for two triples in 2008 ... had 15 games with multiple hits and nine multiple RBI games, second-best on the squad, including six versus Tulsa, a career-high ... also drew 18 walks and was hit by a pitch twice in 2008 ... also had a sacrifice fly ... recorded 43 putouts with four assists ... best performance came at the Conference USA championship after breaking three championships records, posting six RBI (a career high), three runs and two long balls against Tulsa to help lift the Miners into the semifinals.
2007 (JUNIOR): Recorded 13 runs on 17 hits for UTEP...connected for four doubles while driving home eight RBI...also drew 11 walks and was 1-for-1 in stolen bases...had 20 putouts...tallied a season-high three hits vs. East Carolina (April 21).
2006 (SOPHOMORE): Started in 50 of 54 games for the Miners...batted .221 with 33 runs on 31 hits...one of two Miners to connect for a triple this season...hit six doubles, a team-high 10 home runs and 23 RBIs...launched one of UTEP's six grand slams...was 5-for-5 in stolen bases...recorded a season-high three hits and four RBIs against New Mexico State (March 15)... reached eight total bases against New Mexico and sailed two home runs (Feb. 18)...recorded a season-high four putouts against Houston.
2005 (FRESHMAN): The El Paso native started 13 games for the Miners...Perez recorded seven hits, four runs, four doubles, a triple and four RBIs...batted in two runs against Indiana...went two-for-four against Grambling on April 4, including one run and an RBI.
PRIOR TO UTEP: Named All-District Defensive Most Valuable Player while tallying a .371 batting average, .929 fielding percentage and 18 RBIs as a prep senior...helped the Cougars to third place in district competition in 2004...received first team All-City honors and was the District Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2003...lettered in volleyball...member of the National Honor Society.
