Quezada Set To Re-Join Mexican National Team

UTEP women’s soccer standout Susie Quezada will re-join the Mexican National Soccer team this week for games in Portland, Ore. and South Bend, Ind.

Quezada, who is a rising senior defender for the Miners, spent three weeks in early February training with the team in Mexico City.

Mexico will face defending NCAA champion Portland on Friday and Gonzaga on Sunday. Both games will be at Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex.

From there, the team will head to South Bend for friendlies against Illinois on Wednesday, Apr. 26, and Notre Dame on Friday, Apr. 28. Both of those contests will be at Alumni field as a part of UND’s Spring Soccer Fiesta.

Quezada has appeared in 35 career games at UTEP with all 25 of her starts coming during the Miners’ 2005 season when they went 20-4-1 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in their first-ever appearance.
