Miners Wrap Up Quality Exhibition Spring Season
While it does not draw the attention or glory of the regular season, the exhibition games the Miners play in the spring have nearly the same amount of importance on the overall success of the program.
The effort at workouts and exhibition contests sets the tone for the fall. Based on the results this spring, the Miners are on track to notch their 11th straight winning season. Consider that UTEP handled I-10 rival New Mexico State on the road, 2-0, while battling Big 12 member Texas Tech to 0-0 tie and playing to a 1-1 draw against Pacific 12 school Arizona. While it came up shy against Arizona State and on the road against New Mexico, those experiences should pay dividends when the Miners start their 2012 season
