Register Now For Second Round Of Miner Soccer Academies
Registration is now open for the second round of the Miner Soccer Academies, which will be held July 16-19. There was a great turnout for the first round of the academies, with nearly 200 campers participating.
Each camper will get a soccer ball and t-shirt by signing up, not to mention some of the best instruction in the area.
Campers have three choices that they can register for - the full day camp, or morning outdoor camp, or afternoon indoor camp.
There is the full day camp that runs from 8:30 am until 5 pm.
The morning outdoor session runs from 8:30 am until noon in the Sun Bowl.
Lunch will be located in the Durham Center Hall of Champions from noon to 1 pm.
The afternoon indoor session will run from 1 pm until 5 pm in Memorial Gym.

For those who need a crash course on UTEP soccer, you've come to the right place. The Miners have been embraced by El Paso, and they have rewarded the faithful by turning into a league and regional power. Consider the following accomplishments under head coach Kevin Cross (* denotes prior to start of 2012 season):
- 136 wins to rate 22nd in the country since 2002*
- 10 straight winning seasons, all of which had at least 10 victories*
- Tied for second in C-USA with 96 wins after becoming a member in 2005*
- Played in three league championship games, including in 2011*
- Record of 86-14-3 at home since 2002*
- Outscored the opposition, 303-90, in those home contests*
- One of 12 teams in the country with more than 500 goals in the past decade
- Represented on the all-conference team 24 times*
- 513 goals to rate eighth in the country since 2002*
- Attracted a Conference-USA best 41,675 fans to its home games since 2005*
- Led C-USA in attendance four times out of seven since joining it in 2005*
- Earned 131 academic honors & 186 academic awards in its 16-year history*
- Won at Texas to advance to the second round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament
- Been represented at both the FIFA Women's World Cup & Summer Olympics
