UTEP Rifle Takes Second in Reno
RENO, Nev. – The UTEP rifle team combined for an aggregate score of 4566, as the Miners finished second in Reno, Nev. over the weekend. Nevada topped the field shooting 4578 and Air Force rounded out the group with 4540.
The Miners were the top shooters in smallbore, posting a score of 2260. But Nevada’s 2320 in Air Rifle helped boost them past UTEP.
Kayra Davila was the Miners’ top shooter in smallbore, recording a score of 569. She was followed by Anna Crabtree with 565, Leah Wilcox with 564 and Rachel Glenn with 562.
Wilcox notched the day’s top score in air gun, firing 588. Crabtree followed with 576. Glenn and Davila both registered scores of 571.
The Miners wrap up their fall season on Nov. 18, as they take on Alaska-Fairbanks at the UTEP Rifle Range.
