El Paso, Texas - The UTEP Rifle team returned to action on Saturday against TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. The Horned Frogs edged the Miners 4695-4630. The Miners aggregate was the highest overall score they have posted in two years.

Two Miners had career days as they posted personal bests in smallbore. Andrea Palafox posted a 583 and Andrea Vautrin finished with a 581. Alix Moncada gunned a 570 while Hannah Muegge and Korina Rodriguez shot 568 and 566, respectively.

Moncada was the Miners' top shooter in air rifle firing 590. Palafox (588), Rodriguez (587), Vautrin (579), Muegge (571) and Atenas Bojorguez (570) rounded out the team scoring.

"I am very pleased with the progress and determination of this team," said head coach George Brenzovich. "They have focus and character along with a work ethic. We need to stabilize performances for the upcoming Falcons."

The Miners return home to face Air Force next Saturday at the UTEP Rifle Range.
