UTEP's Carson Meger and Korina Rodriguez To Be Recognized by Thomas Howard Foundation

UTEP football's Carson Meger and rifle's Korina Rodriguez are to be recognized at the Thomas Howard Foundation's (THF) Inaugural Athletic & Academic Awards Reception on Thursday (March 29) at 6:30 p.m. at Coronado Country Club.
A Plano, Texas native, Meger played in 12 games for the Miners last season and made three starts at quarterback. He completed 71-of-112 passes for 669 yards with two touchdowns. He registered two games with over 200 yards passing.
Rodriguez participated in the 2012 NCAA Men's and Women's Rifle Championships. A native of El Paso, she finished with an aggregate average of 1,144 points for the season with career-bests of 587 in air gun and 572 in smallbore.
A walk-on himself, Howard was a linebacker on the UTEP football team from 2002-05. The Lubbock, Texas native was picked by Oakland in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft and currently starts for the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Thomas Howard Foundation is among the first to recognize athletes who embraced walk-on status at the college level and furthered their careers to higher achievement.
