Shooters Fall to Alaska-Fairbanks in NCAA Qualifier

EL PASO, Texas - Freshman Amber Criss fired 585 in air gun, her second highest career effort, but it was not enough to boost UTEP past Alaska-Fairbanks over the weekend at the UTEP Rifle Range. The Nanooks fired 4669 to the Miners' 4593 in the effort. Criss' 585 was a team-high for the Miners and her eighth mark over 580. She shot 573 in smallbore, also her second-best for the season. Senior Kayra Davila also scored 580 in air rifle. Anna Crabtree and Josei Burzynski each gunned 578. Morgan Glenn recorded 576 and Jessie Garay hit 571. In smallbore, Crabtree fired 573 and was followed by Burzynski (566), Davila and Garay (560) and Glenn (557).
