Miners Fall to Alaska-Fairbanks at Sectionals

The UTEP rifle team fell to Alaska-Fairbanks at the NRA sectionals in Fairbanks, Alaska over the weekend. The Miners combined for an aggregate score of 4582 but it was not enough to top UAF who finished with a weekend total of 4697.

UTEP fell to UAF, 2341-2289, in the air rifle portion on Saturday. Rachel Glenn fired a team-high 579. She was followed by Leah Wilcox with 578, Davila with 568 and Lemons with 564. UAF’s Jamie Beyerle was the top shooter of the match with 593.

The Nanooks topped the Miners in smallbore on Sunday, shooting 2356 to UTEP's 2293.  Glenn was also the top shooter, gunning 584.  Anna Crabtree ended the match shooting 580, while Lemons and Davila ended with rounds of 567 and 562, respectively.
