EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP rifle team posted an aggregate score of 4556 to take second place in a triangular match with the University of Mississippi and Air Force over the weekend. Ole Miss came in first with a top score of 4569 while the Falcons shot 4532 to round out the group.

Josie Burzynski ended the day as the Miners’ top shooter in air gun, recording a team-high 586 for the day. Andrea Palafox was not far behind, gunning 584 and Amber Criss and Morgan Glenn registered scores of 571 and 567, respectively.

In smallbore, it was Palafox recorded the high mark, recording a final score of 566. Criss ended the day with 564 in the three-position gun and Burzynski (563) and Glenn (555) rounded out the group.

The Miners return to action against Nevada on Nov. 1 at the UTEP rifle range. The event is slated to begin at 8 a.m. and is free and open to the public.
