EL PASO, Texas - The UTEP rifle team posted its second-highest score (2,298) on the year in the air rifle to cap its two-day shooting at the NCAA qualifying event and the 2012-13 season on a high note.

It was a complete team effort across the board, with each Miner turning in a quality score.

Jennifer Armendariz paced the team by firing 584, her second-best total since the start of 2013. It also afforded her a total of at least 580 for the seventh time in nine events during the 2012-13 season.

Korina Rodriguez finished the competition with a total of 580 to support Armendariz. It was the fifth time this season that she registered a score of at least 580, and four of those have been since turning the calendar to 2013.

Senior Hannah Muegge, the epitome of consistency, delivered a solid score of 571 while Areli Oros rose to the occasion by shattering her career high. Oros fired a 563 to best her previous career mark (550) by 13 points. The Miners will now begin their training process for the 2013-14 season.
