Women's Golf Opens Albuquerque Tourney in 16th Place

The UTEP women's golf team is in 16th place through 36 holes of the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational on Monday in Albuquerque.

The Miners shot 315 and 324 respectively over the first two rounds for a total of 639. UNLV is in first place among 17 teams (293-295-588) heading into Tuesday's final round.

Leading UTEP was Nathalie Castillo, who tied for 60th place on day one with a 10-over-par 156 (78-78). Emma Edin is tied for 66th place (79-78-157), Camino Sardinero is tied for 81st place (78-84-162), Emma Burman is in 87th place (80-86-166) and Maria Velasco is tied for 90th place (86-84-170).
