UTEP Women's Golf Team in 15th Place at First Tournament

The UTEP women's golf team is in 15th place through two rounds at the Colonel Wollenberg Ram Classic on Monday in Fort Collins, Colo.

It is the Miners' first tournament of the 2012-13 season. They fired rounds of 302 and 314 for a first day total of 616. The final round will be played on Tuesday.

Texas Tech heads up the 17-team field with 575 (289-286) through 36 holes.

Nathalie Castillo is tied for 42nd place with a nine-over-par 153 (78-75) to lead the Miners. Emma Edin (74-80-154) and Camino Sardinero (73-81-154) are tied for 52nd place, newcomer Maria Velasco is tied for 68th place (79-78-157), and Emma Burman is in 84th place (77-90-167).
