Former UTEP standout Gerina Mendoza earned her LPGA card after finishing fifth on the Duramed FUTURES Tour's season money list. Mendoza received the No. 5 LPGA card for a full membership on the 2011 LPGA Tour.

Mendoza was one of UTEP's top players in her four years with the Miners. In her final year she was named the 2007 UTEP Female Athlete of the year as well as the 2007 Conference USA Player of the year.
