UTEP's Jere Pelletier was honored as the Conference USA Women's Golf Coach of the Year on Tuesday after leading the Miners to their first conference championship. UTEP's Shang-Fan Huang and Teresa Nogues garnered second team All-Conference USA honors.

The Miners topped the C-USA leaderboard with a three-day total of 904, taking a two-stroke margin of victory over second place Tulane. UTEP earned an automatic bid to NCAA Regionals and will play the Washington National Golf Club Course with 23 other teams May 5-7 in Auburn, Wash.

Pelletier was previously recognized as the Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 1995.

Huang and Nogues are both juniors. Nogues leads the team with a 75.7 stroke average this season, and Huang ranks second with 75.8. Both players have picked up three top-10 finishes and six top-20 showings, and Nogues is the 2011 C-USA individual champion. Huang's best finish of the year was a tie for 2nd place at the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate in Las Cruces in October.
