UTEP Women's Golf Drops a Spot at C-USA Championship

The UTEP women's golf team shaved five strokes off its first-round score on day two of the Conference USA Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala., but fell one spot in the team standings.

The Miners, who fired 319 on day one of the tournament, shot 314 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 633. UTEP is in seventh place.

Tulsa leads the 10-team field (299-291-590), with Tulane second (301-296-597) and UCF third (306-293-599) heading into Wednesday's final round.

Shang-Fan Huang is tied for 20th place with a 10-over-par 154 (77-77) to lead UTEP. Nathalie Castillo is tied for 24th place (81-76-157), Camino Sardinero is tied for 30th place (79-81-160), Teresa Nogues is tied for 35th place (82-80-162) and Emma Burman is in 44th place (84-86-170).
