UTEP's Sardinero Makes C-USA Women's Golf All-Academic Team

UTEP junior Camino Sardinero was one of six student-athletes named to the Conference USA Women's Golf All-Academic Team on Thursday.
Sardinero has a 3.84 grade point average and is a Pre-Business major.
The native of Villanueva De La Canada, Spain is the team leader in scoring average for the second year in a row with a career-low 76.4. Sardinero has been UTEP's top finisher a team-leading six times in nine events. She has picked up six top-25 showings. She tied for sixth place at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, tied for 11th place at the UALR Classic, tied for 17th place at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, tied for 20th place at the Jim West Challenge, tied for 22nd place at the Blue Raider Invitational and tied for 24th place at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic.
She shot her low round of 70 at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, where she was atop the leaderboard through 36 holes.
Sardinero is a two-time recipient of a Conference USA Academic Medal for recording a grade point average of 3.75 or better.
Joining Sardinero on the team was East Carolina's Katie Kirk and Fanny Wolte, FIU's Meghan MacLaren, Florida Atlantic's Jacqueline Shelly and UTSA's Taylor Newlim.
The Miners will finish their season at the Conference USA Championship next week in Gulf Shores, Ala.
