UTEP sophomore golfer Deborah Martinez was named third team All-Conference USA on Thursday.

The native of San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico led the Miners with a 78.7 stroke average this season while playing in all 10 tournaments. She finished in the top 10 at two events, including eighth at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman, Okla. with a season-low 220. Martinez took 23rd at the Conference USA Championship which concluded in El Paso yesterday.

Martinez has been appointed to the C-USA Women's Golf All-Academic Team as well. She has a 3.71 grade point average and is majoring in Economics.
