UTEP Women's Golf Team in Eighth Place at UALR Classic

The UTEP women's golf team is in eighth place through 36 holes of the UALR Classic on Monday in Little Rock, Ark.

The Miners carded rounds of 304 and 312 respectively for a total of 616 on day one of the tournament, which concludes on Tuesday. Arkansas State leads the 19-team field (301-305-606).

UTEP's Rosana Gomez is tied for sixth place with a five-over-par 149 (74-75), three strokes behind individual leader Laura Stempfle of Florida International (74-72-146).

The Miners' Teresa Nogues is tied for 23rd place (74-79-153), Shang-Fan Huang is tied for 35th place (78-78-156), Ana Pastor is tied for 55th place (79-80-159) and Liz Sobczak is tied for 62nd place (78-82-160).
