UTEP Women's Golf Team Holds 11th Place at Westbrook Invitational

The UTEP women's golf team, opening its spring season, is in 11th place through 36 holes of the Westbrook Invitational on Sunday in Peoria, Ariz.

The Miners recorded scores of 301 and 296 respectively over the first two rounds of the tournament for a total of 597. The final round will be played on Monday.

Illinois heads up the 12-team field (570).

Two Miners occupy the top-20 of the individual standings. Teresa Nogues is tied for 12th-place with a one-over-par 145 (75-70), and Shang- Fan Huang is tied for 19th place with 147 (73-74).

Camino Sardinero (tied for 42nd place, 76-75-151), Nathalie Castillo (tied for 55th place, 77-77-154) and Emma Edin (63rd, 82-78-160) round out UTEP's participants.
