UTEP Women's Golf Fires Season-Low Score in Las Cruces

The UTEP women's golf team broke 900 for the first time this season, shooting 892 to finish sixth at the Price's Give Em Five Intercollegiate on Wednesday in Las Cruces.

The Miners put together rounds of 300, 293 and 299. Baylor was champion of the 15-team tournament (860), with Idaho second (861), North Texas third (875), Colorado State fourth (880) and Long Beach State fifth (883).

Teresa Nogues fired a one-under-par 71 on Wednesday to finish tied for ninth place (74-73-71-218). Camino Sardinero landed 12th (74-71-74-219), Shang-Fan Huang tied for 17th (75-72-75-222), Emma Edin tied for 56th (77-77-79-233) and Emma Burman tied for 81st (78-83-82-243). UTEP's Johanna Permatz, competing as an individual, tied for 78th place (78-81-81-240).

The Miners will complete their fall schedule at the Middle Tennessee State Invitational Oct. 24-25 in Nashville.
