UTEP Women's Golf Concludes Campaign At NCAA West Regional

AUBURN, WASH.- The UTEP women's golf team wrapped up its 2010-11 season by securing a 24th-place finish after the final round of the NCAA Division I Women's West Regional concluded Saturday evening.
The Miners carded a 338 on the last day of action to finish with a three-day sum of 983 (321-324-338). Top-ranked Southern California toppled the 24-team field with a score of 866 (288-284-294).
UTEP was led by Teresa Nogues, who finished in a tie for 109th (83-78-83-244). Shang Huang (82-83-81-246) and Ana Pastor (75-81-90) were deadlocked for 113th while Rosana Gomez (81-82-84-247) took home a share of 117th. Emma Edin snared 125th (88-91-90-269).
The tournament marks the end of a successful 2010-11 season for the Miners. UTEP notched six top-five finishes, including claiming the 2011 Conference USA Championship to secure the first league crown in program history. The conference crown earned the Miners the automatic bid to the NCAA Regional, which was their initial appearance in the event.
