UTEP Women's Golf Team Ties For 11th at UALR Classic

The UTEP women's golf team tied for 11th place at the UALR Classic on Tuesday in Hot Springs Village, Ark.

The second round was completed and the third round was played on Tuesday, with the Miners logging scores of 328, 321 and 320 for a total of 969.

Camino Sardinero tied for 21st place, shooting 239 (80-84-75), to lead UTEP. Emma Burman tied for 30th place (82-81-79-242), Maria Velasco tied for 42nd place (83-80-83-246), Nathalie Castillo tied for 49th place (83-79-86-248) and Emma Edin tied for 54th place (86-81-83-250).

The team champion was Sam Houston State, which shot 937 (324-315-298) to head up the field of 15 teams. The individual winner was North Texas' Georgina Mundy (74-73-75-222).

The Miners will return to action April 8-9 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Chandler, Ariz.
