UTEP Women's Golf Team Ties For Fifth at Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate

The UTEP women's golf team tied for fifth place at the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate on Tuesday in Victoria, Texas.

The Miners' final round of 309 was their best of the two-day tournament. UTEP finished with a 54-hole total of 943 (315-319-309).

Texas State won the 14-team event (308-310-302-920). The individual medalist was Arkansas State's Cassie Huffer, who fired a six-over-par 222.

UTEP's Stephanie Herrera tied for eighth place (78-74-79-231), Teresa Nogues tied for 17th place (77-84-74-235), Rosana Gomez tied for 28th place (78-85-76-239), and Liz Sobczak (82-82-81-245) and Samantha Garza (86-79-80-245) tied for 49th place.
