UTEP Women's Golf Struggles on Last Day of Jim West Challenge

The UTEP women's golf team had a rough day to conclude the Jim West Challenge on Monday in Blanco, Texas. The Miners shot their worst round of the season, 341, to finish with a 54-hole tally of 982.

UTEP finished 10th out of 12 teams at the tournament. After firing 316 as a team over the first 18 holes, the Miners slumped to 325 and 341.

Camino Sardinero led the Miners, shooting a 17-over-par 233 (80-76-77) to tie for seventh place. Nathalie Castillo tied for 28th place (77-79-89-245), Emma Burman tied for 39th place (81-84-86-251), Emma Edin tied for 47th place (78-86-91-255) and Amber Herrera finished 61st (86-89-89-264).

UTEP will have a few weeks to prepare for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational March 12-13 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
