UTEP Women's Basketball Non-Conference Schedule Announced

EL PASO, Texas -Match-ups against Arizona, Arizona State, Kansas State, New Mexico and continuing the Sonic Battle of I-10 with New Mexico State highlight UTEP women's basketball 2012-13 non-conference schedule, which was announced by head coach Keitha Adams Friday.
"We're excited to announce our schedule to our fans," Adams said. "The schedule brings several home games for our fans to be a part of. It will be very competitive and challenging schedule for us. We're anxious to get in the gym and get our season started."
The Miners will look to hone their skills in an exhibition game against St. Mary's University (Texas) on Nov. 3 before tipping the campaign off in earnest at home against Loyola Marymount (Nov. 10). Houston Baptist is on the docket for Nov. 16 while the Sun Devils of ASU will make their first trip to the Don Haskins Center since the 1990-91 campaign two days later (Nov. 18).
UTEP will spend the week of Thanksgiving in the beautiful Bahamas, where it is slated to face another Pacific-12 power- Arizona- and in-state foe Texas Southern as part of the Junkanoo Jam on Grand Bahama Island.
The Sonic Battle of I-10 then takes center stage, with UTEP paying a visit to the Pan-American Center Nov. 28. The rematch is set for Dec. 5. Contests against Texas State (Dec. 1) and Eastern New Mexico (Dec. 8) will also be during that homestand.
UTEP will then venture to Big 12 country to challenge perennial power Kansas State (Dec. 16). The Miners will wrap up non-league play at home with three straight games, in the form of I-25 rival UNM (Dec. 20), Sam Houston State (Dec. 28) and UTPA (Dec. 30).
The Conference USA schedule will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
