Register Now For UTEP Women's Basketball Summer Camps
June 14, 2013
EL PASO, Texas - There is still time to register for the rapidly-approaching 2013 UTEP women's basketball summer camps. Both the Mini Miners' Basketball Camp and the Teen Camp are open to any and all entrants, and they will be held June 24-26 at the Don Haskins Center.
As a bonus for registering, campers will be given a basketball and a t-shirt. Making the camps even more special is that Keitha Adams, the two-time Conference USA Coach of the Year and the all-time program win leader, is heavily involved with a lot of the instruction throughout the camps. Her staff, select Miners and other special individuals will join her in the teaching process.
The Mini Miners' camp is for all basketball players grades K-6, and it will run from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Campers will be instructed in ball-handling, dribbling, passing, shooting and rebounding. The activity-based, fun-filled camp provides individual attention to Miner Miners and emphasizes coordination and skill improvement. Additionally, parents are invited to attend a skill exhibition from 11 a.m.-noon on the final day of the camp.
The teen camp is geared for all basketball players grades 7-12, and it will be contested from 1-4 p.m. Campers will learn how to improve their statistical averages and their game as a whole. They will be instructed in skills specific to each court position, from the point guard and shooting guard positions to playing in the post.
