Miners Garner Academic Honors From Conference USA

IRVING, Texas- The UTEP women's basketball team has picked up 16 academic honors from Conference USA, the league office recently revealed. An astounding 12 Miners earned placement on the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll (min. 3.0 GPA) while four student-athletes secured a C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal (min. 3.75 GPA).

The effort in the classroom was mirrored on the court, with the Orange and Blue overcoming three injuries to key players to finish 22-10.The Miners advanced into the C-USA semifinals before bowing out to league tournament runner-up, UCF. It was the second straight and fourth season of at least 20 victories in the past seven years for UTEP.

The academic success is nothing new for head coach Keitha Adams' program, with every individual who has exhausted her eligibility during her era earning a degree and graduating.
