Fans are encouraged to cheer on the UTEP women's basketball team as it takes on Stanford in the second round of the NCAA Tournament tonight at approximately 8:30 p.m. MST.

A pair of official watching parties have been organized in El Paso by the UTEP Alumni Association, one on the East side at Border City Ale House (1506 N. Lee Trevino Drive) and another on the West side at Brew Sports Pub & Grill (8041 North Mesa). Food and drink specials will be available at both locations.

The seventh seed Miners (28-3) advanced to the second round of the tournament by beating 10th seed Western Kentucky, 92-60, on Saturday. Second seed Stanford bounced 15th seed Cleveland State, 85-47. The Cardinal (31-3) is ranked fourth in the country.

Tonight's game will be nationally televised on ESPN2. It will also air locally on KOFX 92.3 FM.
