Five Women's Athletic Events In The Next Six Days
Beginning with Thursday's UTEP-San Jose State women's basketball game in the Don Haskins Center and ending with the inaugural games at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex, women's athletics at UTEP will take center stage over the next six days.
UTEP will play host to the Spartans at 7:05 p.m. as the athletic department celebrates National Girls & Women in Sports Day. Admission is free to everyone.
At halftime, the Flo Hyman Award Winners for El Paso and the 1974-75 women’s basketball team will be recognized in a brief ceremony. Following the game, members of all 10 women's athletics teams at UTEP will be available on the concourse for autographs and pictures.
On Friday and Saturday, the UTEP tennis team will face Wyoming and UT-San Antonio at the El Paso Tennis Club. Match times are 2 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Saturday night, the women's basketball team will battle Hawaii at 7:05 p.m. in the Haskins Center. UTEP will honor its two seniors, Marta Dydek and Angie McGee, prior to the game.
Tuesday will see the Miner softball team welcome Howard Payne to town as UTEP plays its first game in the Helen of Troy Softball Complex. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for Noon.
Tickets to Saturday's basketball game are $6.50 for adults. Admission to both tennis matches and Tuesday's softball game is free.
