UTEP Men's Golf Team in 10th After Day One of William H. Tucker

The UTEP men's golf team is in 10th place following 36 holes of the William H. Tucker Invitational on Friday in Albuquerque.

The Miners fired rounds of 305 and 306 for a total of 611 on the first day of the tournament, which annually attracts some of the nation's top teams. Arizona State heads up the 17-team field (284-287-571), with New Mexico second (290-292-582) and BYU third (295-296-591) leading into Saturday's final round.

Leading UTEP is Jere Pelletier, who is tied for 32nd place with a seven-over-par 151 (77-74). Frederik Dreier (77-76-153) and Martin Simonsen (75-78-153) are tied for 40th place, Roberto Ruiz is tied for 50th place (76-78-154) and Jacob Loya is tied for 72nd place (77-81-158).
