UTEP Men's Golf in Sixth Heading to Final Day of C-USA Championship

The UTEP men's golf team shot 298 on day two of the Conference USA Championship on Monday in Texarkana, Ark., dropping a couple of spots in the team standings.

The Miners are in sixth place with 18 holes remaining, carrying a two-day total of 587 (289-298).

Houston (286-280) and SMU (278-288) are tied for first place with 566 each in the 12-team field.

The Miners' Martin Simonsen is tied for 11th place with an even-par 144 (72-72), leaving him eight strokes behind individual leader Bryson Dechambeau of SMU (68-68-136).

Jere Pelletier is tied for 22nd place (73-72-145), Jerry Castrellon (74-75-149) and Roberto Ruiz (74-75-149) are tied for 28th place, and Devin Miertschin is tied for 47th place (77-77-154).
