The UTEP men’s golf team finished 13th at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate on Friday in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

SMU won the 19-team tournament (279-271-273-823), narrowly nipping second-place BYU (278-269-277-824).

SMU’s Brandon DeStefano won the individual title over Auburn’s Jay Moseley on the second hole of a playoff. Both players carded a 202 over 54 holes.

For UTEP, Colby Lindsay tied for 25th place (72-68-70-210), Trent Rommann (73-69-71-213) and Roger Sloan (69-73-71-213) tied for 42nd place, Chad Keohane tied for 74th place (74-72-72-218) and Manuel Torres tied for 79th place (70-72-77-219).
