UTEP Men's Golf Team Shoots 304 on Day One of John Burns Intercollegiate

The UTEP men's golf team fired 304 on the first day of the John Burns Intercollegiate on Wednesday in Kahuku, Hawaii, and is in 16th place with 36 holes to play.

The tournament will continue through Friday.

California shot 270 and heads up the 18-team field.

Leading the Miners was Martin Simonsen, who carded a two-under-par 70. He is tied for 15th place. Devin Miertschin is tied for 49th place (74), Jerry Castrellon and Jere Pelletier are tied for 92nd place (80) and Ryan Fioretti is tied for 102nd place (85).
