The UTEP men's golf team capped its 2009-10 season by finishing 10th at the Conference USA Championship on Tuesday in Sorrento, Fla.

The Miners shot 914 as a team with rounds of 311, 304 and 299.

UCF won the 11-team tournament (292-288-278-858), with Southern Miss (304-292-280-876) and Rice (295-290-291-876) tied for second place.

David Persons carded a seven-over-par 223 (76-75-72), tying for 21st place to lead the Miners. Devin Miertschin tied for 43rd place (78-76-77-231), Jerry Castrellon tied for 46th place (83-74-75-232), Johnny Duncan finished 51st (77-79-78-234) and Tanner Taff finished 53rd (80-85-75-240).
