"It was real quiet after the game in our locker room. We had a bunch of disappointed Miners. We didn't play well enough to win the game. It looked like we were trying not to lose rather than playing with confidence and aggressiveness.
"We were ready to go. I was pleased with our preparation. We had lots of energy but didn't make the plays when we had to.
"We thought we would have to stop their running back to win the game. We played the run pretty well. The play-action pass killed us. We had the guys on them, but they just went up and made the plays. We didn't. We had chances for interceptions but didn't make them.

"Coaches lose games and players win games. That's the way it is in this program, so we will take the criticism from the fans. You have to have thick skin for this job.
"We need to keep practicing hard and simulate our practices to as much as a game-like environment as possible so they feel the urgency. We aren't going to change our practices too much other than trying to make them more competitive.
"I think the pressure is off right now. Tulane had no pressure on them, and they played well. They out-played us.
"We need to calm down, relax and get after it. We can play with everybody in this league. It is a tight league.
"I don't know how Southern Miss is 5-5. They should be much better than that.

"Their offense is run thru Jeremy Young. He is a big, tall athletic guy. Damion Fletcher is a great back. He runs just like Tyler Ebel. He is a hard-nosed runner and a really good player.
"Their linebacker Gerald McRath is one of the finest in our league.
"We have to get something going on offense and score points against these guys.
"It is going to be a great challenge, and we would like to have the fans come out and support us. They could definitely make a big impact on the game.
