EL PASO – Former Miner Horace Miller signed a free-agent deal with the Super Bowl XLVIII Champions Seattle Seahawks on May 27.

The Baltimore, Md., native was signed with the Seahawks after completing a successful rookie minicamp tryout.

Miller played three seasons for the Miners after transferring from Louisville in 2010. The linebacker accumulated 120 tackles (48s/72a), 17 tackles for losses for 77 yards and 12 sacks during his career with the Orange and Blue.

During his senior campaign, Miller registered a single-season best 53 tackles (20s/33a). He registered five or more tackles six times, including career high nine tackles (2s/7a) against New Mexico in his final season with UTEP.

The three-year letterwinner earned All-Conference USA honorable mention accolades in 2012 after pacing the team in sacks and tackles for losses. His six sacks for 38 yards that season marked the most sacks in a season by a Miner since 2005. In 2011, Miller led UTEP in sacks, tackles for losses and quarterback hurries.
