UTEP Adds Three Players to Football Roster
Jan. 19, 2009
All three are enrolled in classes for the spring semester, which starts tomorrow (Jan. 20).
UTEP will begin spring ball on March 31 and continue workouts though the annual spring game on May 2.
Grayson, Jeune and Trisby originally signed national letters of intent with the Miners a year ago, but were ineligible for the 2008 season. Grayson and Jeune are projected to play safety for the Miners, and Trisby is listed as a quarterback/wide receiver.
Grayson and Trisby will have four years of eligibility at UTEP, and Jeune will have two after transferring from Moorpark Junior College.
The 6-0, 190-pound Grayson earned team MVP and first team All-League honors in leading Rancho Verde (Calif.) High School to a 9-3 record and share of the Inland Valley Conference title as a senior in 2007.
Jeune was tabbed second team All-Conference as a sophomore at Moorpark JC, where he tallied 57 tackles, three interceptions, three pass break-ups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. The 6-4, 205-pound Jeune was a three-year varsity letterwinner at Malden (Mass.) High School.
The 6-2, 190-pound Trisby split time at quarterback and safety as a senior at Herbert Hoover High School in San Diego. A first team All-League offensive selection and second team All-CIF defensive pick in 2007, Trisby passed for 1,187 yards, rushed for 428 and added 197 receiving his senior year.
