2008 (JUNIOR): Honorable mention All-Conference USA ... started all 12 games -- 11 at left guard and one at right guard when injuries decimated the Miner offensive line ... UTEP ranked 14th nationally in passing offense (284.2 ypg), 24th in passing efficiency (142.56), 25th in scoring offense (32.9 ppg) and 31st in total offense (406.5 ypg) ... the Miners scored 30+ points in eight of 12 games and 40+ points three times ... UTEP topped 30 points in eight of the last 10 games after getting off to a slow start with 30 points combined in season-opening losses to Buffalo and Texas ... the Miners averaged 36.5 points over the final 10 contests ... UTEP averaged 36.9 ppg and 427.5 ypg in C-USA play with 319.4 yards passing per game ... UTEP's 395 points marked the fourth-best seasonal total in school history and its 4,878 total offfensive yards also ranked fourth in the record book ... the Miners set a school record with 34 touchdown passes, including 33 by Trevor Vittatoe ... UTEP had over 400 yards of offense in seven games, including a season-high 544 versus SMU ... earned Conference USA All-Academic honors and won the Kinesiology Major of the Year Exercise Sciences Award ... earned a spot on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for posting a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

2007 (SOPHOMORE): Started every game at left guard ... UTEP rated 25th nationally in passing offense (275.2 ypg), 28th in scoring offense (33.6 ppg), 35th in passing efficiency (134.95) and 37th in total offense (422.8 ypg) ... UTEP also averaged 147.7 yards rushing, a considerable improvement from 2006 when the Miners gained only 57.6 yards per contest on the ground ... the Miners tied the school record by scoring 40 points or more on five occasions in 2007 ... that record hadn't been equaled since first being set in 1950 ... the Miners compiled a school record 5,074 yards of offense in 2007 ... Marcus Thomas ran for 1,166 yards and tied the school standard with seven 100-yard rushing games ... Trevor Vittatoe established UTEP freshman records for passing yards (3,101) and passing touchdowns (25), and had the second-best passing yardage total in the nation among freshman signal-callers ... the Miners scored in 29 of 32 quarters in Conference USA play, topping the 40-point mark versus East Carolina, Rice, SMU and Tulsa ... UTEP compiled over 400 yards of offense in eight of 12 contests.

2006 (FRESHMAN): Started the first three games at left guard before suffering a season-ending knee injury ... named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.

PRIOR TO UTEP: State Top 300 player by Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine ... honorable mention All-State selection by the Texas Sportswriters as a senior at Tivy High School ... also first team All-District 28-4A, first team All-Area and first team All-Hill Country ... first team All-District, first team All-Area and first team All-Hill Country his junior year ... honorable mention All-District as a sophomore ... played offensive and defensive tackle during a three-year varsity career at Tivy High School ... part of a 13-1 team that was a regional finalist in 2002 ... high school coach was Mark Smith.
