2015 Thomas Howard Walk-On Award Recipient

2015 (SENIOR): Saw action on special teams in all 12 games … recorded a tackle in the Miners’ first two matchups of the season versus Arkansas and Texas Tech.

2014 (JUNIOR): Participated in nine games on special teams ... led team to New Mexico Bowl, its first since 2010 ... earned the 2015 Thomas Howard walk-on award at the Dinner with the Miners banquet. 

PRIOR TO UTEP: Played final season of high school football at Montwood High School in 2011 (El Paso, Texas) after transferring from Westside High School (Anderson, S.C.) ... played multiple positions during senior season in 2010 for the Rams ... named All-District 1-5A performer at wide receiver, defensive back and on the punt return team ... reeled in 17 catches for 338 yards (19.9 average) and five touchdowns ... tallied 45 tackles (23s/22a), one interception, four pass breakups and two tackles for loss on defense ... returned 15 kickoffs for 422 yards (28.1 average) and returned three punts for 38 yards (12.7 average) ... booted six punts for 183 yards (30.5 average) ... practiced with the Charleston Southern football team during the 2011 season.

PERSONAL: Son of William and Xochitl Stukes … has one brother and one sister … uncle Charlie Stukes started in Super Bowl V for the Baltimore Colts ... cousin Dwayne Stukes was a member of three NFL teams (Falcons, Steelers and Buccaneers) and coached with two (Buccaneers and Bears) ... born in El Paso, Texas … criminal justice major.
