2014-15 UTEP Men's Basketball Schedule

UTEP's 2014-15 men's basketball schedule is now complete with the announcement of the Conference USA schedule on Wednesday.

The Miners will play 18 league games for the first time since 2004-05, when they were members of the Western Athletic Conference. UTEP will face Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Rice, Southern Miss and UTSA twice each, and will play Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, FIU, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion, UAB and Western Kentucky once.

Three of last season's four C-USA co-champions - Tulsa is no longer in the league - will visit El Paso during the first month of league play. The Miners will host Louisiana Tech on Jan. 8, Southern Miss on Jan. 10 and Middle Tennessee on Jan. 31.

UTEP will tip-off the C-USA slate on the road for the third time in four years with trips to North Texas on Jan. 2 and Rice on Jan. 4. The Miners will play five of their first seven C-USA contests away from home, including matchups at UTSA (Jan. 17), Western Kentucky (Jan. 22) and Marshall (Jan. 24). UTEP will face new league member Western Kentucky for the first time since 1969.

The Miners will begin a stretch of five home games in seven starts versus UAB on Jan. 29. UTEP will also host Middle Tennessee, Charlotte (Feb. 12), Old Dominion (Feb. 14) and UTSA (Feb. 21) during that stretch, wrapped around a two-game swing to the Sunshine State with games against Florida Atlantic (Feb. 5) and FIU (Feb. 7).

UTEP will play at Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss on Feb. 26 and Feb. 28 respectively before concluding the regular season at home versus North Texas (March 5) and Rice (March 7). The Miners will play five of their last seven league games in the Haskins Center, including the aforementioned three-game homestand versus Charlotte, Old Dominion and UTSA.

UTEP returns nine of its top 10 scorers from last year's 23-11 team that finished 12-4 in Conference USA. The Miners return a pair of All-League players in senior forward/guard Julian Washburn and sophomore forward Vince Hunter.
