USA U19 Team Opens FIBA World Championships With Rout of Iran

Tyshawn Taylor scored 13 points to lead the USA U19 National Team to a 106-55 thumping of Iran on day one of the FIBA World Championships on Thursday in Auckland, New Zealand.
UTEP forward Arnett Moultrie was on the floor for seven minutes for the United States, missing his only shot attempt and finishing with four rebounds and an assist.
The United States shot 55.4 percent from the field and made 12 three-pointers, as seven players scored in double figures.
Leading 14-12 with less than three minutes remaining in the first quarter, the United States closed the period with a 16-1 run to take a 30-13 advantage.
The U.S. team will face France on Friday in Auckland.
